The core idea of this collection for Ukraine is to highlight the enormous contribution of women in the defense of Ukraine, as well as their important role in the future demographic development of the country.
These women face not only great challenges in their daily lives caused by the consequences of the war, but also difficult situations in their private lives.
Based on personal interviews with women serving in the Ukrainian armed forces, we have identified several key issues. A frequently mentioned issue is, of course, material support for female defenders , which will continue to be needed throughout the conflict and we are happy to provide it.
However, the dominant topic in the interviews with the target group of our collection was the preservation of the genetic pool and reproductive health of Ukraine. A key factor for the future of Ukraine is the preservation of the birth rate of the population, which was negatively affected by the war.
One option to support future fertility is cryopreservation , which allows women to freeze reproductive cells (eggs or embryos). This is a financially demanding method that is currently not funded by the state in Ukraine. For this reason, we have chosen it as one of the priority topics for this collection for Ukraine .
We all wish and believe in an early end to the war . We have decided to dedicate part of our collection to women who want to return to their homes, often destroyed by the war. With our collection, we want to help build infrastructure in war-damaged areas, participate in humanitarian projects and, through targeted support, make it easier for women, mothers and families to return to their homeland.

What we are doing
Together with our Ukrainian partners, we have specified three priority topics that we plan to address during the duration of the collection (see our goals).
Our assistance will be transparent and organized with the help of Ukrainian partners on the ground. We are cooperating with reproductive medicine clinics in Kiev, Lviv and Odessa, which are ready to carry out cryopreservation procedures for the reproductive cells of women who defend the peace of Ukraine.
Another partner is the city of Bucha and the all-female battalion “The Witches of Bucha”, which we have already helped in the past and plan to continue to help.
We will inform you about the progress of the collection, as well as the use of funds, on our website in the news section.
Who is behind the project?
We are a group of people from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine who are not indifferent to the fate of those who decided to stand up for their country and freedom. Our collection Peace guardians is specifically aimed at supporting Ukrainian women, heroines who face difficult conditions on the front lines and beyond every day. We believe that the courage and heroism of these women deserve not only admiration, but also support and targeted help.
The project is supported by the civic association VIS EU o.z ., together with partners from the private and non-profit sectors.

Our goals
Saving lives of future children of Ukrainian mothers: As a result of the war, Ukraine found itself on on the verge of demographic collapse. In conditions of war, when thousands of Ukrainians have lost their homes, health or lives. Cryopreservation of reproductive cells becomes one of the few ways to ensure the future of the nation . Our humanitarian aid collection provides funds for the cryopreservation of egg cells for Ukrainian women, life-bearers involved in the war.
Direct aid on the frontlines: To help Ukrainian women on the frontline obtain the necessary equipment and supplies that will make their difficult fighting easier. The funds raised will be used exclusively for protective, medical, and non-offensive supplies.
The war will end, but we will not stop supporting: We all believe in an early end to the war and we know that it is after this, that the most help will be needed. We face major tasks such as the reconstruction of Ukraine and assistance to returnees, so we will continue to help with our initiative even after the fighting ends.
Join us and support the courageous women fighting for the freedom and future of their country. Together, we can make a difference.
